The AXL Marquee Capricorn bass guitar is one of the newest relic basses from AXL.  This instrument combines some of the basic classic elements of a relic while adding in some modern bits and pieces.  It’s designed to appeal to those who want a vintage style bass but also want a bass that's got some new features.  It’s not going to appeal to just everyone, but to those who like this style, there’s not many other instruments out there that can match what the Marquee Capricorn has to offer.

This relic features an offset alder body done in the double cutaway style.  It has a maple neck, and the fretboard is made out of rosewood on all Marquee Capricorns except the natural color option—that style comes with a maple fretboard.  The Capricorn makes use of two single-coil Alnico pickups to give it a nice, rounded low end that still carries some punch in the midrange.  There are two volume controls on the Marquee Capricorn, one for each of the pickups.  This lets you bring in a large variety of tones and really make your own sound.  The bridge is done in a vintage style to help add to the overall look of the piece.  The Capricorn also features a unique two-piece pickguard that both harkens back to many classic designs while also bringing in a slightly modern look.
