The Nash S-57 is a sweet looking relic guitar, especially the sleek black model. But this guitar does more than just look good—it sounds amazing, too. In fact, it’s one of the most playable instruments around, and it’s actually affordable, too. Bill Nash designed the S-57 to combine that great vintage look and feel while still being affordable to the average player. The S-57 also features some very modern additions, but these additions don’t spoil its great relic look or make it seem like a strange mixture of new and old.
Nash put much of the experience he gained repairing and refurbishing Gibsons and Fenders into the design of the S-57. He personally designed and hand-crafts each S-57, using only the highest quality hardware, wood, and other options. He refuses to create a guitar that anyone could pick up off a rack. Instead, each of his instruments is an unique hand-made guitar that is like no other.
The Nash S-57 features an alder body and a maple fingerboard. The bridge is vintage, and it has Lollar pickups. This relic guitar features a low level of wear, so while it doesn’t look brand new, it doesn’t look like it has been used and abused for years. Instead, it has a few nicks and dings here and there. The sound, of course, hasn’t taken any hits—it sounds excellent, just like all Nash instruments.
