The AXL Badwater Semi-Hollowbody relic guitar gives the appearance of a guitar constructed many years ago. The Semi-Hollowbody features a maple top and back which has been distressed so that it looks ancient. The neck is also made from maple in a C-shape, and it’s set on. One interesting fact about the Semi-Hollowbody is that its neck is incredibly thin—it’s almost like a strat neck, in fact. It features a rosewood fretboard. The guitar has a dot inlay and a anodized Tune-o-Matic bridge. It uses two Alnico humbuckers. A three way selector switch, volume, and tone controls are included. Read more

There are many different types of relic guitars out there, but the ones made by AXL tend to be more than just instruments. They’re almost works of art. The AXL Badwater 1216 is another amazing relic guitar by AXL that provides players with a great sounding instrument that also looks amazing.
The Badwater 1216 features a solid mahogany set neck and a distressed solid mahogany body. The guitar makes use of two EMG-designed Alnico humbuckers. Also, it features a rosewood fretboard that really delivers a warm tone. To add a nice relic touch, the guitar comes with an antiqued tone and volume knob, pickguard, and anodized tuning machines, strap, and bridge assembly buttons.
To finish off that antiqued look, every Badwater 1216 is individually distressed to give it that great vintage look. This means there are no two identical Badwater 1216 guitars out there, so yours would be totally unique. The instrument is available in five finishes: crackle black, crackle blue, crackle brown, antique brown, and antique white.
While slightly related to the Marquee Capricorn in design, the AXL Badwater Capricorn is a relic guitar that has its own unique features and sound. It's design mixes some classic relic elements with a more modern appearance to create a guitar that is both attractive to those looking for a different kind of new guitar and those who want a vintage or replica style model.
This unique relic guitar from AXL features an offset, distressed solid alder body with a maple neck. The body is done in a double cutaway style. The fretboard is made from rosewood. The Badwater Capricorn uses two EMG-designed single coil Alnico pickups. The instrument also uses independent volume controls for each of the pickups so players can easily decide if they want warm and fat tones or want to sound more aggressive and crispy. The pickguard is an interesting antiqued two-piece affair that looks more classic but features a modern edge to it. Likewise, the bridge is done in a vintage style, and when combined with the elephant ear tuners, you’ve got a guitar that crosses the line between relic and modern. The AXL Badwater Capricorn can be purchased from any authorized AXL retailer, and if there isn’t one in your area, the guitar can be ordered and shipped.
The AXL Marquee Capricorn bass guitar is one of the newest relic basses from AXL.
This instrument combines some of the basic classic elements of a relic while adding in some modern bits and pieces. It’s designed to appeal to those who want a vintage style bass but also want a bass that's got some new features. It’s not going to appeal to just everyone, but to those who like this style, there’s not many other instruments out there that can match what the Marquee Capricorn has to offer. Read more
