This fine relic guitar also features custom metal appointments that match the plate and look great. The body is made from alder, while the maple neck is bolted on and features a recessed steel head cap. You have three options for the fingerboard: maple, rosewood, or ebony. The frets are #6105 narrow tall frets. The guitar features volume, tone, and a five way control, plus it uses three Trussart/Arcane single coils, although a a Humbucker, and two single coils are also an option. Left handed Steel O Matics are available for left handed players.
The James Trussart Steel O Matic looks amazing and sounds just as great, but it doesn’t come cheap. It costs $4799 if ordered new from James Trussart.

The James Trussart Steelcaster is a great relic guitar that sounds amazing at home, in the studio, or on the stage. It’s also an amazing piece of art and looks great up on the wall. Each Steelcaster is actually created with many unique, customized details, making each one a true piece of art that has no equal. The instrument features a hollow steel body and has custom metal appointments. This and the custom finish of the guitar creates an interesting tone and gives it a unique annunciated sound. When you combine this with the hollow body, it creates anything from incredibly clear tones to very aggressive, loud lead tones.

The James Trussart Steelcaster features a bolted on maple neck, although you do have the option of a koa neck. The neck is shaped in either the Fat ’52 or ’62 style. The fingerboard comes in maple, rosewood, or ebony. The instrument uses #6105 frets, and the vintage bridge is done as either a 3 or a 6 saddle style. The guitar features Trussart/Arcane single coils, Dunlop strings, and low mass vintage style tuners.

The Steelcaster has made a great impression on many different artists, including players in Pearl Jam, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, and Rage against the Machine, just to name a few. Of course, this unique piece of art and instrument is not cheap: the base price for a James Trussart Steelcaster is $3999.

The James Trussart Deluxe Steelcaster looks incredible both on and off the stage. In addition to its amazing looks, this relic guitar sounds amazing, too. As with all Trussart instruments, it comes loaded with custom features. It looks like a well-preserved vintage guitar, but it has some of the most modern parts around, including metal appointments and an exclusive hollow steel body. The tone of this guitar is annunciated through the steel, giving it a very interesting sound. It resonates within the hollow steel body, allowing you to get everything from incredibly clear tones to powerful lead tones.

The guitar features a bolt-on neck that is done in either a Fat ’52 or a ’62 style. The fingerboard comes in three options: maple, rosewood, or ebony. It has a nine inch radius and features narrow-tall #6105 frets. For the pickups, the instrument comes with Trussart/Arcane single coils standard, but you have the option of using Seymour Duncan or TV Jones pickups.

As far as finishes goes, James Trussart is known for his many patinas and distresses finishes. Each one is unique to the various instrument that it is used on. A number of engravings is also an option. The James Trussart Deluxe Steelcaster is used by a number of top players, including Smashing Pumpkins Billy Corgan, Robert Cray, Billy Gibbons, Joe Perry, Marc Ribot, and Tom Morello.

The James Trussart Steelphonic relic guitar features a great classic design. The guitar is designed to not only sound amazing but look amazing, too—you haven’t seen a relic guitar with this look before, that’s guaranteed. It’s also built using a very unique design that really captures the metallic tones of the resonator guitar. However, it plays and feels like an electric. This sound comes from the way the guitar is built. It is based around a metal “candy box” that’s connected to a transducer pickup. The guitar also features two other magnetic pickups, and the sounds from all of them can be blended together to create sounds no other guitar is capable of.

The Steelphonic features a hollow steel body with a bolted on maple neck. The neck also features a recessed steel head cap, and it can be done in the shape of either a relic from 1959 or 1960. It has a rosewood fingerboard with medium jumbo #6130 frets. The Steelphonic features a custom hard tail style bridge and custom B-Band pickups and preamp. As far as controls go, it has magnetic pickup and a resonator pickup volume controls, plus a three way toggle switch.

The patterns and colors available are very intricate and interesting. James Trussart himself worked for years to come up with his unique finishes, and you’re sure to find one you like.
