Heffernan (thus the KLH name), a guitarist with more than thirty-five years of building experience, each relic guitar is completely built from scratch. Heffernan works very closely with each and every customer to ensure that the finished relic guitar is exactly what they want.

KLH Custom Relics has a great amount of information on their website, unlike some custom builders who ask that you email them for prices and such. At KLH, the base price for any relic guitar is $1,500, and it usually takes about eight to ten weeks for your guitar to be finished. Of course, the price and delivery time can change depending on what you want. Everything used in their relic guitars is made from very high quality pieces. They use reissue vintage bridges and pickups unless you say you want something different.

If you’re looking for an endorsement of KLH, look no farther than their list of customers and friends. You’ll see images of various stars and guitar players who use KLH relic guitars, including Saturday Night Live musician Jared Scharff. Some guitar shops have moved away from taking custom orders and instead only build guitars to their specs and sell them.
