If you’re looking to find a number of Fender Custom Shop1951 NoCaster relic guitars, think again—the company has only produced a very limited number of this 1951 relic guitar. In fact, the 1951 NoCaster Relic is one of the rarest guitars built by the Fender company. They have produced 50 two-color sunburst models and 50 Dakota red models. That’s as many of the NoCaster relics as will ever be made, so as you can expect, the guitar is quite the collector’s item.
Just like the original 1951 NoCaster, the relic guitar version features a body of premium ash and a U shaped maple neck with a nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The fingerboard is also made from maple and has a 9.5 inch radius. The relic guitar has 21 Dunlop 6105 narrow jumbo frets and features nickel and chrome hardware. The pickups include a custom shop Twisted Tele single-coil on the neck and a NoCaster vintage Tele single-coil on the bridge.
The guitar has a three position switching blade that features positions for bridge pickup, bridge and neck pickup and neck pickup. The bridge itself in done in a vintage style with three brass saddles. The 1951 NoCaster Relic has a number of unique features, including the U shaped neck, the flat dome tele knobs, and the barrel switch tip. Just like all of Fender’s relic guitars, the NoCaster’s finish has been designed to look like it has been used for years, showing wear, tear, and scratches.
