The Fender Custom Shop has created a limited run of the LTD Dealer Select Wildwood “10s” 1952 Telecaster Relic Guitar.  This guitar is a recreation of the famous 1952 relic guitar that was used by a number of great players, including David Gilmour, Graham Coxon, and Pete Townsend.  Townsend loved his ’52 Telecaster so much that he didn’t smash it like he did some of the other guitars he used.  This recreation is available in three different colors: faded vintage blonde, faded sonic blue, and a faded two-color sunburst.  All three look amazing and feature original detailing.  These relic guitars, like all of the relics built by the Fender Custom Shop, have been artificially aged so that they look like they’ve been around for years.  This includes adding nicks, scratches, and “natural” wear and tear along with aged plastic pieces and rusty hardware.

The 1952 Telecaster Relic Guitar is made with a premium lightweight ash body and features a quartersawn maple neck done in a soft “V” shape.  The fingerboard is made out of maple as well and has a ten inch radius.  It features 21 Dunlop 6105 narrow jumbo frets and has two pickups: one custom ship twisted Tele single-coil pickup on the neck and a custom NoCaster vintage Tele single-coil pickup on the bridge.  The ’52 Telecaster has master tone and master volume controls and has a three position switching blade for bridge pickup, bridge and neck pickups, and neck pickups.
