The Stratocaster Pro Relic is one of Fender Custom Shop’s limited collection. Many different players have used the Stratocaster Pro.  Just like many of the other limited collection relics, of course, Fender hasn’t made very many of these gems.  In fact, they’ve only done 80 of them: 20 were done in a relic three-color sunburst with a maple fingerboard; 20 in a relic three-color sunburst with rosewood fingerboard; 20 in a relic sonic blue color with maple fingerboard; and the final twenty were made in relic sonic blue with a rosewood fingerboard.

The Stratocaster Pro Relic includes a select alder body that feels great.  It has a modern, C-shaped neck in maple that includes a twelve inch round laminated fingerboard in either rosewood or maple.  It features 22 medium jumbo frets, three Samarium cobalt noiseless Stratocaster pickups, and five way switching.  The controls are handled with Greasebucket tone circuits that rolls off highs without adding any bass.  The bridge features a deluxe two-point synchronized tremolo with polished solid stainless steel saddles and block, and all of the hardware is a nice chrome.  The Strat Pro Relic has a number of unique features such as a contoured heel, 70s style decal, large 7mm dot position inlays, and a 70s style headstock.  Like all of Fender’s relics, its finish has been designed to make the guitar look like it has suffered from years of natural wear and tear.  The various scratches, worn finish, and aged parts combine to make this relic look like it has been around for quite some time.
