The Reverend Warhawk II 390 is a great relic guitar for anyone who loves playing rock. This instrument is capable of producing some very cutting, raw rock sounds, but it’s also adaptable and can bring some great tones to funk, country, and even pop. It features everything you’d expect to find in a Reverend guitar, and it sounds absolutely incredible.
The Warhawk II 390 features a solid korina body that has a slightly raised center section on the front of the guitar. It’s this thicker center that gives the guitar better clarity and sustain. The thinner sections of the instrument allow for better resonance, too, and make the guitar much more lively and rich as far as harmonics go. The neck is also made out of one solid piece of korina, and it features tilt-back headstock. The fingerboard is made from rosewood, has a 12” radius, and has a single-layer binding. The guitar features 22 medium jumbo frets.
The pickups on the Warhawk II 390 are a bit different than normal. The bridge pickup allows for slightly hotter tones than is traditional, while the middle and the neck pickups are cleaner. Overall, the guitar has more of a bite than one might expect. The five-way pickup selector delivers some great classic tones as well and only adds to the Warhawk II’s versatility as a guitar.
