The 60th anniversary of the Fender Telecaster guitar has been celebrated by a unique and unprecedented release of some of their most collectable and historical instruments. This particular guitar is a reproduction of one of the most collectable guitars ever. After the Gretsch company asked Fender to drop the "Broadcaster" name, Fender simply cut the decals so that they read "Fender" only. These "Nocaster" guitars were made until the Telecaster name was introduced in 1951. It is believed that only about 475 Nocasters were ever produced. The LTD Limited Nocaster 2 Pickup model features a premium ash body with the Custom Shop Relic finish treatment, 1-piece maple neck, 25.5" scale length, and a 21-fret maple fretboard. A Flat Pole Broadcaster single-coil pickup in the bridge position, and Vintage 50's single-coil pickup in the neck position offer the player a wide variety of tones for any style of music. Chrome hardware includes a vintage style bridge with 3 vintage saddles and Fender/Gotoh vintage style tuning machines. Includes case, strap, cable, and a limited edition certificate of authenticity.
We look forward to the Fender Road Show every year; they fly in a few of their top guys from the Custom Shop Team (who we have a blast hanging out with and just can't say enough positive things about), and send us a Masterbuilder to talk guitar building and answers every question we throw at them. On top of that, they roll out a very special group of Limited Edition instruments built exclusively for this event. This Road Show instrument is a Nocaster heavy relic with an awesome lake placid blue finish. The guitar features an ash body, a chunky feeling Nocaster U shaped neck, 1-ply black bakelite pickguard, and two Abby handwound Twisted Tele Pickups. We dig the way the Custom Shop wore the finish on the Nocaster off around the edges of the body, as well as the small dings throughout the top and back.
The LTD Limited Snake Head Telecaster is a reproduction of the prototype that Fender used to take around to clubs for artist to try. It is from this guitar that the Telecaster blossomed and changed the musical landscape forever. Unique features include the "snake" headstock, a Single Custom Nocaster Vintage Tele single-coil pickup in the bridge position, vintage style bridge with 3 vintage saddles, and half Tele pickguard. Includes case, strap, cable, limited edition certificate of authenticity.
Two years after its 1951 debut, the Telecaster was an established success, prized for its sound and style and well on its way to stage and studio indispensability. Further, 1953 marked its final year as Fender's sole solid-body electric Spanish guitar model. The Custom Shop pays homage to Fender's early-'50s workhorse guitar with the 1953 Heavy Relic Telecaster. Features include a lightweight ash body with a Nocaster® Blonde lacquer finish given a heavily worn "Heavy Relic" treatment, tinted one-piece maple neck with '57 soft V shape, maple fingerboard with 9.5" radius and 6105 frets, vintage-design 1950s Telecaster pickups, three-way pickup switch with modern wiring, single-ply black Bakelite pickguard, vintage-style hardware, center pocket tweed case and certificate of authenticity.
