Reverend Guitars is known for working with some great musicians, including Pete Anderson and Unknown Hinson, the man who calls himself the King of Country Western Troubadours. In addition to producing guitars based on the designs and desires of these players, Reverend also has a number of limited edition instruments. The Six Gun Limited Edition was created in 2010, and once all of them are sold out, no more will be made.
The Six Gun Limited Edition takes the standard Six Gun guitar and modifies it so that it’s truly a one-of-a-kind instrument. It features a reverse headstock, a white pickguard and white neck and middle pickups, a Wilkinson V50 tremolo, and a limited edition logo found on the back of the headstock.
This relic guitar has a korina solidbody with a reverse bolt-on neck that is made of maple. The fingerboard is also maple and has a 12” radius. The pickups are Reverend T-style single-coil (bridge) and S-style (the middle and neck). You’ll find 22 medium jumbo frets on the instrument as well as Reverend pin-lock tuners, volume and tone controls, and a 5-way switch. This guitar retails for $1079 and, as mentioned above, supplies are extremely limited.
Reverend Guitars teamed up with legendary country/rock guitarist Pete Anderson to create their first hollow body relic guitar. Anderson, a Grammy award-winning player and producer, knows just about everything there is to know about guitars, and the final vintage product he and Reverend created is a masterpiece. The guitar has everything you’d expect to get in a classic P-90, but it has a few interesting improvements and updates.
The single brace structure goes from the neck all the way to the bridge, running the full depth of the body. This helps reduce uncontrollable feedback, provides increased sustain and structural integrity so that the neck doesn’t start to tilt upward, and also helps to reduce uncontrollable howling. The low strings have more clarity, too. By having the neck join the body around the 15th fret, you also get better access to the high frets. The Pete Anderson Signature Model, like every other Reverend guitar, features their Bass Contour control that gives you access to quick tone tweaking and more versatility.
The Pete Anderson Signature Model features a hollowbody made from laminated maple with an arched top and back. It has two Reverend P90 pickups, and they are tone calibrated. The neck is glued on and features a three-piece korina. The guitar has a dual-action truss rod, a rosewood fingerboard with a 12 inch radio, and 22 tall narrow jumbo frets.
