Building your own relic guitar or purchasing one gives you that great old guitar look, but imagine how odd it looks when you play this relic guitar with a modern looking amp. It kind of shatters the whole visual effect. Fortunately, ValveTrain has a solution: why not relic a guitar amp to go with your relic instrument? ValveTrain features what they call the tortured tweed finish. While the entire interior of the amp is hand-wired and contains the most modern parts, the exterior is a distressed tweed that looks like it had been around for 50 years or more. It will truly match your relic guitar’s look and feel and make it look like you’ve been playing for ages.
ValveTrain offers two different types of tortured tweed. One features a medium amount of distressing, resulting in only a few worn edges and scuffed sections. The other option is heavy distressing and includes more scuffing, worn corners, and even a few cigarette burns! The name plate, control plate, and handle aren’t distressed so you can read everything clearly and carry your amp securely.
In addition to their tortured tweed collection, ValveTrain also sells many modern amps and accessories. They also have a custom shop section. If you’re looking for something custom-made, all you have to do is drop them an email and they’ll do what they can to accommodate your request. While they don’t sell guitars, if you want a cool relic amp to accompany your relic guitar, check out what they have to offer.
